Submitted by FLeffel on Fri, 03/06/2015 - 9:58am

The B SIG orientation and laps are ON for tomorrow.  We are switching the order, however.

The address is 588 6th Street, Brooklyn. The closest subway stop is the 7th Avenue stop in Park Slope on the F train. If you get on at the very front of the train, you will come upstairs on 8th Ave & 9th St. Walk 3 blocks along 8th Ave to 6th St. The school is on the corner of 8th Ave & 6th St. Entrance is on 6th St.

An Evening with Bob Roll

Submitted by EWeiss on Wed, 03/04/2015 - 11:40pm

Marty Epstein, proprietor of "Marty's Reliable" in Morristown, NJ, Gran Fondo NJ co-director, (and a sponsor of three NYCC meetings for the past three years), asked that I inform you of an exciting event coming up on March 26th in Parsippany, NJ: "An Evening with Bob Roll". For those of you who are unfamiliar with Mr. Roll, he is the hilarious NBCSN color commentator on the Tour de France and numerous other professional bike races. Mr. Roll is also a former professional bicycle racer, who was on the first "7 Eleven" US team, that raced in the Tour de France. He is also the author of Bobke, Bobke II and A Viewer's Guide to the Tour de France.

Sunday Spring Series?

Submitted by Traci on Wed, 03/04/2015 - 5:32pm

sundaySundaySUNDAY! (Read that in booming announcer's voice.)

Anyone interested in organizing a series of Sunday B rides?  I'm inspired by Joe and Mary's Easy Peezy series post...and by the fact that my schedule sadly does not permit me to participate in the SIG/STS.  =/

I was thinking B-15 or 16ish, shorter distances at first, transitioning to longer.  No coaching, of course, but, well, I know I'm always open to pointers.  Ideally people would do at least a few of the rides - it might be nice to see some of the same faces from week to week and get to know people while getting back up to speed.

An unserious idea how to make the April meeting (a songfest) bike-relevant

Submitted by RRosenthal on Tue, 03/03/2015 - 10:21pm
A sticky announces the April program will consist of music performed by...YOU! This program could be redeeming if a condition of playing were that the song make mention of something that could be construed as bike relevant.

While I am waiting for my new Ti frame to be built I am gathering bits. Thinking of doing Silver stem bars seatpost..

I need to see them in the flesh.

Is anyone aware of a LBS that carries Ritchey Classic silver bits or other manufacturers components in silver.

Important Advocacy Action Needed

Submitted by CWaaser on Tue, 03/03/2015 - 2:45pm

The League of American Bicyclists has asked for messages to be sent to Congress to support roll-on bicycle (as well as wheel chair) access on Amtrak trains.  If this becomes reality, it will be HUGE.  Please act.  It's very easy through the link provided.
