Routes to the GWB North Path

Submitted by CWaaser on Sat, 02/11/2023 - 7:58pm

The north path over the GW Bridge is scheduled to open on Tuesday, February 14.  Once it’s open, the south path will likely be closed to cyclists and possibly to everyone.

The entrance to the north path is now on Cabrini Blvd. at the base of 180th St. Since 180th St. is one-way going east, to access the path coming north on Ft. Washington Ave. you’ll make a left onto 179th and at the bottom bear right onto Cabrini for one block. Coming off the path, returning from NJ, you’ll go straight up 180th St. to Ft. Washington Ave.

The military mission "Operation Pop the Balloon" using a $80 mil jet fighter was a huge success.

***The GWB north path will be open this Tuesday, February 14.
Source: a high level PANYNJ official announcement (construction worker in hi-vis vest). The ramp on the NJ side looks very twisty.

Unfinished projects: detour on Hudson Terrace is still in effect on weekdays. Dyckman hill on RR is still a mess. The Bald Eagles will need a new nest. Southbound RSD @ W155 is still terrible.

Hi, any info about the new upcoming George Washington Bridge north side bike path?  Such as when it will be open? How much an improvement over the current bike path, ( yeah, anything is a lot better ) ?  Will it be open 24x7?
