Bar accessory doohickey questions
Hi:
My cycling saga's latest episode is a new (to me) road bike. The drop bar does not leave me enough space for the accessories I've grown accustomed to from my flat bar bikes; Garmin, headlight, bag, bell, camcorder. See picture below (headlight is under the Garmin.)
My new great grandson
Proud to relate that my granddaughter - Allie Kandel Dietz - was delivered of her first child (my first great grandson) Charles Ellis Dietz on January 11, 2023. Proud father is Mike Dietz.

George Kaplan, the oldest (although not the longest) member of our club, who will be 93 in July (and who, not incidentally, is still very sharp) just became a great grandfather!
Rob(ert) Schoenbohm just had a (thus far) successful liver transplant
If you know anyone who has had a transplant of any organ, he would like to learn of their recovery experience.
His letter states: I believe it is possible to return to full activity but what the arc of recovery might look like is unknown.
We live in hope, I am most fortunate for the chance I have been given and mean to use it well. Things could still go south and fast, but everyday risk is reduced, so we just will go at it day by day.
Simple good wishes are, of course, also and always appreciated.
Mini pump under bottle cage - left side or right?
I'm putting an old mini pump to use. It has a mounting clip that fits under a bottle cage, can go on the left or right (drive) side. In a prior life, it sat on the left. I realize that when I lay my bike down, it's always drive side up. So, it would make sense to mount the pump on the drive side. But won't that expose the it to spray from the chain? Thx.
Mallorca or other
Hello and Happy New Year to all!
I am looking to join a group of NYCC cyclists to bike with in Mallorca this March or early April. 7-8 days. Please contact me if you know of a group that is going. I am also considering organizing a group if there's not one in the works. Please contact me asap. Thanks--MaryBeth M

Perkins
Does anyone have a route back from Perkins without using 9W?
Thanks
B-Ride leaders
Steve Vaccaro, our B-Rides coordinator, is in the hospital. I am not sure of the details but he will likely not be in a position to approve rides for a while.
I am standing in for him but I don't automatically get notified of ride submissions. I will be checking the ride submissions regu larly but I don't want to miss someone's submission and leave you hanging whether the ride is approved.
When you submit a ride, if you don't get an approval in a reasonable time, send me an email telling me your plans. You don't need to give me the entire listing details. Once I know there is a ride submitted for approval I can look it up and approve it or, on the rare occasion when it is necessary to ask some questions I can contact you.
Is it reasonable to call/text a ride leader that you're late?
A while back, I was on a ride (not leading), where a rider called the leader to say that they are on the subway, running late and would they hold the ride. Is this a reasonable request?
