Can someone post the ENY routes?
I do not want to have to sign up to strava just to download the files for the Garmin.
Is there somewhere else where I can get the GPX files?
Team NYCC for Gran Fondo NJ 2017 is created
Hi NYCC,
I have just created (and will, once again, be captaining) Team NYCC for Gran Fondo NJ 2017, to be held on September 10, 2017. I have done this now, so that our NYCC members who wish to join our team would be able to take advantage of the lowest registration price offer possible, which will go up on Sept. 19th. If you register for Team NYCC before Sept. 19th, you will not only receive a team discount of 20% (off the individual pricing), you will also get an additional $20.00 off the registration price. Please email me at: [email protected] to obtain our new Team NYCC password and I will reply quickly.

Escape New York A ride lead by team NYC velo
Join us! For the 8th year in a row the CRCA B cup winning team NYC Velo will be leading an "A" ride for Escape New York. All strong NYCC riders are welcome; not just those that are interested in racing next year. We will meet at around 6:45 AM at Sakura park and congregate right outside on the fence just south of the entrance, at 7:15 we ride, you will spot us easily by our NYC VELO red and blue jerseys. The pace will be steady and we will try to keep everyone together. It may get a bit more selective on the longer climbs, but we always regroup at the top. We’ll stop for all mechanicals, etc.
Chapeau to Richard!
Amazing accomplishment of climbing the highest pass in the Alps this summer. While the photos were not chosen as POW you can see them here http://imgur.com/a/UHoIo and one is below.
Even more amazing is that Richard apparently climbed the pass with his Bowling Ball!
May you never spend more time bowling than riding Richard!

Accident this past Sunday(9/11) -Jersey side NJ bridge-JERK CYCLIST ON A BLACK CANNONDALE
Many of you may have seen me on the NJ side of the GW bridge-just before Hudson Terrace-this past Sunday(9/11)-I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT. A rider on a black Cannondale with Shimano 105 components-passed me in a very UNSAFE MANNER in mid-span-after calling him a common derogatory name(starts with letter A) I passed him yelling loudly-on your left-which he had NOT done. I then stayed ahead of him hoping to prevent him from doing anything else really STOOOOOPID. As we approached NJ side; I pulled ove before the narrow section. He passed me and 10-15 seconds later crashed head-on into a cyclist coming the other way! The cyclist coming from NJ was on the correct side-not "MY Cannondale rider"--I called the police as this Cannondale Cyclist jus
Regarding disc brakes, for people with disc brakes
Disc brakes, they used to be cable activated. Now they are generally purely hydraulic, or cable to hydraulic at the brake site. The technology has been working its way down from mtn bikes, to xc bikes, to road bikes. Personally, the only first hand experience I have with it is on mtn bikes.
A problem with hydraulic activated brakes is loss of braking due to air bubbles that get into the closed system. [if that is not an oxymoron, nothing is] When you press the brake lever all the way to the handlebar and you get minimal to no braking, there is a real problem. The system then needs to be bled or burped. Granted, you can lose braking due to brake pad wear, but that is not the problem I am addressing here.
