Self guided bike tours - Europe

Submitted by knitandthecity on Tue, 03/28/2017 - 8:23am

Looking for information on Self Guided tour operators in Europe. If you have experience - chime in. I'm looking to ride solo...nothing insanely hard, but not flat roads. I want to feel like I worked! I'm also not overly interested in France, Italy or Spain - but if you have experience there, I'd like to hear it because maybe I'll change my mind. I'm leaning toward Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovenia, etc. Riding in late september/early october.

Gotham Bikes has closed

Submitted by Myles Lewis on Mon, 03/27/2017 - 3:23pm

I noticed today Gotham Bikes on Reade St in TriBeCa has closed. I don't know how long they have been closed but it's a shame to lose an independent bike shop but I guess it's a tough retail climate for everyone these days. I know they were owned by the people who own Toga Bikes which seems to have been a busier location.

Submitted by CCaron on Sun, 03/26/2017 - 3:08pm

Hi All, I have moved to Cleveland and I'm looking for a bike club here, preferably one similar to NYCC (well, one can dream).  I miss New York and the club more than you can imagine!  But if you can suggest a good bike club in Cleveland, I'd appreciate it!  Thanks, Chaim Caron

Thank you, Israel Forst

Thank you Israel.

Sometimes life gets in the way of our fun.  Such is the case with Israel Forst.  Izzy’s job has him traveling quite a bit of late.  New baby at home.  Wife – Susan – a professional with a demanding career.  Put all that in the mix and add being our Webmaster and the plate becomes not full, but overflowing.  Something has to go.  After almost 5 years as our Webmaster, it’s time for Izzy to hand over the keys to the castle to someone else.
