If you have a car—heck, if you can DRIVE a car— or a van—Escape New York needs you. There are still openings for licensed drivers to help with provisions on Friday as well as Saturday. (Work Friday, ride Saturday).

We need drivers to shuttle volunteers to the rest stops so everyone gets fed on time! We’ll even provide the van!

And we need cars to patrol the routes as S.A.G vehicles. If you’ve ever had to call an Uber, here’s your chance to beef up your karma.

So, baby if you drive a car, ENY will make you a star!

Once a month, I write a President’s Message that is posted on the carousel on the main page of the Club Website.  Some of my messages are better than others.  This month’s the best ever – it’s about NYCC cycling style. I copied the message here thinking perhaps placing it on the Message Board would make it more available to more members.

Escape New York. . . . .

Our big event, Escape New York – “ENY” - is around the corner. It is our showcase event of the year. This one day, September 16, 2017, is perhaps the single most shining day of the year for the New York  Cycle Club.

...so Saturday we were bombing down 9W, on a fast down slope headed to the rise that crests at the state line and the turn-in into Columbia's Lamont laboratories and we pass some doofus with a shovel, shoveling the road. Huh? What? How's that? There're no horses leaving dung up there.

The Bloodroot Cafe Ride will happen as promised! Noon at end of #6 train.
