getting removed from a ride due to 'rider conflicts'
I haven't been so shocked in my life for awhile now. I signed up to the ride well in advance and yesterday afternoon after my CRCA race I was informed that I have been removed from the ride due to rider conflicts. I can't believe it. I had planned my whole weekend around doing this ride along with saving a specific training freshness to not get dropped. This is the ride in question: https://nycc.org/node/84390. This has been significantly disruptive to me and am now posting here because I been unable to sleep the past night due to the anguish this situation has caused me.
bike fitting - level?
I've searched the archives, and I don't think this question has been asked and answered. I'm interested in a bike fitting, but most shops have multiple levels of fitting, and it's not clear to me which level I need. It seems like there are usually 3 levels: (1) a basic sizing (which I know is not what I'm looking for); (2) a 1-hour or so session addressing saddle, pedal, and handlebar position; and (3) a name-brand (BG, Guru, Retul), 3-4 hour fitting with interview and computer imaging. For example, http://ridebrooklynny.com/about/bike-fittings-pg135.htm

Beautiful new pavement, no more milled or trenched sections.
petite women clothing brand suggestion appreciated
The brand I know that fits me is Castelli XS. Just wanted to have some more brands to choose from. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this even though it has nothing to do with cycling.
How quickly our former cycling companions pass from mind when not here to ride with us. Has it been a month since Maggie Nguyen and Harry Woods moved to................Charlottesville? Just thought that might divert you for a moment.
Saturday's C Cruise has been postponed.
Veterinary emergency has forced us to postpone. We will relist when we have a firm date.
Apologies to all.
Gravel Rides around the city?
As the proud new owner of a Cyclocross bike, I now want to get off the smooth roads and paths I ride my road bike on, and get some gravel riding in.
Any recommended routes / areas to check out?
Another local downhill fatality
Aug 16 Rockland Journal-News page 3A. a 53 year old NJ res, not a NYCC member was cycling down rapidly with a small group a steep section of Buckberg in Tomkins Cove Saturday. I assume he was braking hard as he approached Mott Farm. Apparently no car or other biker was directly involved in the accident. Earlier this summer a prominent NJ dentist and a personal friend of mine lost his life on a downhill near Old Tappan and Rivervale. No car or other cyclist was involved in that accident either.
Discusion on "Bothersome Rider"
Recently JMONROY posted a message on this board regarding a "Bothersome Rider" and what are the leaders to do in that situation and what is the clubs and boards position on the subject. All of this and other issues that came up are valid for us discuss but because the thread singled out one person specificlly and degraded in to personal insults amoung people posting responses I decided to unpublish the thread.
This is a valid thread and should be discussed without singling out individuals or being insulting.
