Once again, I am asking our board to create a standing committee on bicycle advocacy
What is the problem? We have members who are doing this on their own but not working with our board and not under the aegis of NYCC.
With the important issue at hand of organizing and supporting the 7 Lakes Drive connector, so important to our members and the cycling community, we are feeling our way in the dark. With a committee established we could have been one step ahead of the game in matters political, inter-bike clubs/organizations, and intra-club. Do we really need to scramble to get the NYCC board officially to recognize this effort? There should be a liasion from the committee on the board, perhaps non-voting, to keep both sides on the same page. We should be ahead of the curve on every initiative that touches on our members.
NYCC Berkshires Weekend May 24-27, 2019 -- call for leaders
Leaders are needed for our Memorial Day Weekend in the Berkshires.
Here's last year's NYCC web page: https://nycc.org/events/berkshires2018 This contains lodging information and general information about the weekend. It has been updated--see the homepage.
Here's a link to 2018's MB thread, which contains more information about the weekend and in particular about the trains. https://nycc.org/message-board/berkshires-weekend-may-25-28-2018/86551
This year we have reservations on several trains to and from the Berkshires. We still need a few train leaders.

Women-Specific Bike Fitting | Recommendations
Good afternoon,
Anyone have any good recommendations for relatively affordable and (preferably) Brooklyn-based bike fitting services designed for women? I had a fitting a few years ago, but as of late have been experiencing some discomfort and believe I need another fitting. I realize this might be somewhat of a controversial topic so I apologize in advance for offending.
Sincerely, Tanya

Best shop to build up a new bike?
everyone has an opinion but figured id ask what's the latest consensus for the best local shop to build up a new bike.
ive used the service dept at sids in the past and have been pleased but there's a bunch of new mechanics there. im bringing pretty much all of the parts.
thanks.
Interesting experiment with our perceived knowledge of "our " bikes, our memory, and drawing abilities.

NYCC Racing Team website: A really terrific website. And that first photo is simply SENSATIONAL!!!
I was led to see the club's racing team's participation in Saturday's race(s) around Riverside Church and discovered what may be their new website, or simply new since last I saw it. It's fabulous. And just look at that great, great, really great opening photo! It's as great a team or club or, for that matter any organization's photo as I've ever seen. Anywhere. And that easily includes photos of the best financially (and creatively) supported pro teams. Chapeau to whomever designed and took it.
IMPORTANT C-SIG INFORMATION!
For all participants who have registered; at this time, you should have received your C SIG confirmation email detailing the Classification ride this Saturday and other important information. If you haven’t, please review your emails when you first signed up for the SIG and most importantly, check the emails in your Spam folder. If you do find that email, click on the links for more specific information.
If it is not there, you can contact us at [email protected] and we will send out that information to you but please go back and check your emails first.
