Commerce/TD Bank Customer Service (Calling back 1:05 after auto-message said call back wait time was 20 mins.): The bank will be closed but use our drive-in teller.

Me: I don't own a car. I bike.

Customer Service: Then bike to the drive-in window.

Me: In New York? In Manhattan? Drive-in tellers?

Customer Service: Yeah.

Me: No.

Are Spain & Italy right?

Submitted by michael on Fri, 03/20/2020 - 10:39am

Spain and Italy have banned all bikes. The idea is to keep injured cyclists out of hospitals. Indeed, bike injuries in NYC have recently spiked due to more people biking in an attempt to avoid crowded public transportation. Are the Spanish and Italian authorities right or are New Yorkers right? What should we do?

How are you coping?

Hi Everyone,

Now that I am over the shock of the cancellation of the all club sponsored activities and staying indoors and not going outside for biking or hiking, etc., I trying to deal with staying indoors 98% and still getting exercise.  I have ramped up my in-door exercise routine and running up the stairs.  I live on the 16th floor, so walking/running up the stairs is a good but short work out.  How is everyone else coping?

Any details on newly appeared Ghost Bike (5th Ave/E73St)?

Submitted by SRodetis on Wed, 03/18/2020 - 11:27am

A ghost bike popped up recently just north of the Citibike rack, affixed to street sign at west (Central Park) side of 5th Ave near E73rd Street.

Does anyone have any details of the misfortune that may have occurred here?  I checked the ghost bike map, and list, but no posting for such location

Thnx.
