I've always thought that a dumb name for the ride since it ends in...New York. But it does have some cachet now, doesn't it?

So here's my (not serious) logo idea for it this year: A bike whose wheels are that circular corononavirus.

Title is not what you think; completely and totally unlike the youtube video of the same name.

Is anyone else able to access this? I click the links on the sticky message announcing the new page, and both go to 404 page not found.

Social distancing is pushing runners and walkers out into the bike lane in Central Park (and presumably Prospect Park et al). This is a good thing - people are finally being careful - but it creates two new dangers. One, obviously we need to be more careful and slow down if necessary. Two, we need to be more tolerant. On my morning laps today I heard a fellow cyclist snap "Bike lane!" at a runner who was in the middle of "our" lane. Clearly the runner was just properly distancing herself from other runners she wanted to pass, and the a-hole on the bike was trying to pretend that nothing has changed. But things have changed - hopefully just for the next few months - and we have to adapt. Please be more careful and more tolerant out there. 

I think the following bears consideration, even if we in NY are not required to ride strictly alone.

Piermont Bike is open regular winter hours and days per piemontbike.com.  It is deemed as essential but front door is locked so knock.  If you are planning a special trip it would be a good idea to call first 845-365-0900
