Passive aggressive loogie hocking in CP

Submitted by MFulton on Fri, 09/11/2020 - 2:10pm

Funny story: trudging my steel frame road bike up "Harlem Hill" today in the "slow lane", and, at the very top of the hill, a gentleman in full navy blue S-Works kit with matching bike and bright white socks passes on the right, looks back in my direction, and proceeds to hock a loogie at my front wheel.

I'll admit, I can be a jerk, but this was one of those times when I definitely was NOT being a jerk.

Any thoughts on hocking a loogie at someone in the middle of a pandemic? Is this a "pro" thing. (Just kidding. Sorry for venting.)

Tire advice

Submitted by halpernd on Mon, 09/07/2020 - 8:31pm

Hello -

The tires on my Specialized Allez Comp are worn out.  I have a 700X25 in the front and 700X28 in the rear (opted for this for improved comfort).  I have been riding a lot and for the first time speed is more important for me than comfort.  So, I'm thinking to go with 700X25 for front and rear.

Any Di2 experts out there?

I've been fighting with the Di2 on my 2 year old Cervelo R3 for several weeks now and so far Di2 seems to be winning. In the middle of a ride a few weeks back it just started to respond only intermittently. At first the rear derailleur stopped responding but the front would still shift. That's opposite from the behavior when the battery runs low, and I had recently charged it, so it obviously wasn't a dead battery. If I stopped it would shift for me, but it gradually got worse. Eventually the front stopped responding too.

I don't have any other experience with Di2, but it's an electrical system with sealed components so the problem has to be with one of the cables or one the components.

When the perp realized that he was not going to win the tug o war with me over the bike and his friends weren't coming to his aid, he gave up.  There were a number of people & 2 (empty?) police cars at the scene.

Di2 with smart trainer

Submitted by ty111 on Fri, 09/04/2020 - 2:38pm

Does anyone notice shifting problems when using Di2 on smart (wheel on) trainer. My shifting is a mess and I don't know if it's a simple adjustment.

Does anyone know of anypne who services these things? You can't exactly ride into your local shop. What a PITA.

Thanks
