scooters and motorcycles on the GWB path with license plates
Has anyone noticed scooters and / or motorcycles on the GWB bike path that actually have license plates? I noticed a couple smallish motorcycles a couple weeks ago and I am hearing that others have seen scooters. I don't think any vehicle with a license plate should be using the path. This is probably being done to avoid the toll and / or traffic or in a scooters case for their safety for they wouldn't manage too well on a busy highway. There seems to often be Port Authority cop cars on the NJ side but I am not sure if there are usually cops in them nor is it certain if they would stop and summons these riders. Is there a good way to complain to the PA and make them aware of this and do enforcement?

RIVER ROAD REPORT: Today's PIPC police lie to me.
Around 6AM, a PIPC officer assured me on the phone that River Road was clear and rideable. It is not. The devastation of the storm is enormous and will be long lasting. You'll climb over and under fallen trees and be almost continuously dodging thick debris and rock. Lesson #1: Don't fuck with Nature. Lesson #2: Police can, uh, umm, mis-speak. Having identified myself as one of those cyclists who are such a nemesis to them, I wonder if his assurance was for his own amusement to screw a cyclist.

Need Help Creating a NYC Area - Princeton Ride
Most of the threads I found on NYCC.ORG are 15+ years old so I'm hoping that the ride mavens have some more current suggestions.
I want to do a century from the NYC area to Princeton and back. I will drive from my home in Wantagh to the start so beginning in Northern NJ is not an issue.
As always, thanks for all of your great suggestions.

Garmin Edge 1000 - battery lIfespan / replace ?
Does anyone else have experience with an ageing Garmin Edge 1000? Mine is about 4-5 years old. I think the battery is reading the end of its lifespan. Curious if others have experienced this and how you handles if so. I spy some DIY battery replacement videos on Youttube, but it looks slightly advanced. Thanks! Adam
Lost keys
Lost my keys somewhere between Piermont and GWB (or possibly Riverside). Light blue Citibike key on there, along with a few others. Hopefully someone out there found them, please get in touch.
Thanks.
Scouting Ride to City Island postponed to Sunday, 8/9
Sorry but there's a chance of rain/thunder today with almost no bailouts for 20+ miles. Standing under a tree in a thunderstorm is not great fun.
Tomorrow looks perfect. Please join us then.
