PARIS (AP)—The Leopard Trek team is denouncing reports that Swiss cyclist Fabian Cancellara is using a revolutionary system on his bike that gives him a substantial advantage over his rivals.

Following a report in La Derniere Heure newspaper, team manager Brian Nygaard told Cyclingnews.com on Wednesday that the technology known as Gold Race is not used by his team but added the time-trial world champion might have used it when racing with the Saxo Bank team.

“There’s a bit of confusion here,” Nygaard said. “I think they might have been attached when he was still working with (bike manufacturer) Specialized, but I can guarantee you 100 percent that we are not working with these people at all.”

Removing Cars from CP Might Not Solve Too Much

A few years ago, I was one of those spandex riders doing 15-17 minute loops in the Park, generally between 10am and 12 noon. I no longer ride in the Park -- not because of the ticketing blitz, but because there are way too many people at that hour who do unpredictable things and make it dangerous for cyclists. I actually find it much safer during cars hours primarily because during those times, there is a natural flow that seems to work well. Pedestrians cross at crosswalks when they get the proper signal, runners are in the runners lanes, and cyclists in the bike lanes. It all works.

HOV Lanes

Submitted by RWechsler on Wed, 03/16/2011 - 10:53am

HOV lanes in the park llimit cars to those with two or more passengers. These type of lanes are supposed to encourage carpooling. Since when is a taxi driver and one passenger considered a car pool? Or a limo with one passenger, for that matter? Taxis and Limos with only one passenger should not be allowed in HOV lanes. Anyone disagree with this?

Cops Ticketing Cyclists for Red Lights Far Beyond Central Park
Gothamist, March 10, 2011

There's been an outcry over the NYPD cracking down on cyclists who blow through red lights in Central Park, and biking advocates hope to persuade the NYPD to adjust enforcement in the park at a meeting Monday night. But if you ride a bike outside of Central Park, don't think for a minute you're off the hook. Artist and graphic designer Tyler Lafreniere found this out the hard way last night on Flushing Avenue in Brooklyn. He writes:
