B SIG Oyster Bay Ride: We'll Make the Call in the Morning
To All B SIG Participants:
From looking at current weather forecasts, I don't think we can say for sure if tomorrow will be a good riding day or not. At the moment it looks like not, but with the rain currently expected to start tomorrow afternoon, we'd better hold off on making that decision until the morning.
I will post the go/no-go decision by 7:00 a.m. tomorrow. It's a shame we can't decide right now, but I don't want to postpone tonight and then end up losing Sunday as a riding day as well.
Thanks for your patience. Cross your fingers for at least one good ride day this weekend.

A-STS Ride #7 White Plains to Greenwich: Possible Postponement to Sunday due to Weather
Gerald and I have been watching the front that is moving in and checking the changes in the forecasts for Saturday and Sunday. While early forecasts seemed to give us a chilly, windy, but dry day on Saturday with rain coming into the picture in the early to late evening, things have taken a turn for the worse more recently. Now, the probability of rain has increased by 1pm, which would definitely cut into the ride. Saturday temperature is also scheduled to only reach about 50 at most with a good deal of wind. Wet and chilly are not the kind of conditions that typically yield a pleasant riding experience. So we are considering moving the ride to Sunday, where the temps are predicted about 10 degrees warmer.

Cop cites gal for tote-bag 'hazard'
By DAVID SEIFMAN and JEREMY OLSHAN April 15, 2011
The city is dying for a few good cyclists -- but handbag owners need not apply.
A Nightingale-Bamford School executive was pulled over by a cop while cycling on Columbus Avenue and slapped with a ticket for -- of all things -- pedaling with a tote bag strapped to her handlebars.
This is hilarious

A generous NYCCer gave me these Zefal toeclips in a size Large. They have served their purpose--convinced me I do indeed need a size Medium. So I am passing them along
