I rode my bike to work on Friday, the first time all year, and was rewarded with getting my handlbars, brake levers, disc brake calipers, etc all stolen:

This is on Jay street, with constant foot, motor and bike traffic.  I parked on this block for years with no problem when my work had a bike rack; now the buildings got a construction barrier and they got me right away. 

Talking to the Police and some of my colleagues, it seems this is a big problem in the area.  They didn't cut my lock, but they skillfully disassembled the stuff they wanted.  My colleague got his headset and bottom bracket stolen.

All C-SIG groups are riding today, Sunday, starting at the times that had been pre-announced for Saturday.

Today's B SIG ride to Oyster Bay is on.  The rain has stopped and the National Weather Service has lifted its wind advisory.  It will still be breezy, but not as bad as was predicted yesterday evening.

As it stands, my one official registered rider has dropped out due to injury. (Though I have another friend coming who isn't a club member; I won't be lonely or anything. ;-)

Police car was at corner Sat AM.  We have only one traffic light in the lower village and we are very proud of it.  At this time of the year police here and in other West Bank municipalities are also stepping up enforcement of the single file laws.   -Joan & Jay Jacobson (the only Piermont residents who are NYCC members)
