Flying with your bike (JetBlue)
Does anybody have experience flying with their (normal size, non-folding) bike on JetBlue recently? They advertise that you don't need a dedicated bike case, and that they'll accept your bike in a cardboard box or 'plastic foam'.
Years ago I used to often fly Air Canada with my road bike (sans pedals) just in a big thick plastic bag, which they provided at the airport. It always survived the trip just fine. I wonder if JetBlue provides the same thing?
I'd be interested to hear from anybody w specific JetBlue experience on this front. Thanks!
(i'm flying one way and plan to discard the packaging at destination, which is why i'm not considering using a proper case, btw)

interest in A-19 ride this Saturday?
Hey all -
I wanted to gauge interest in an A-19, 65-ish mile ride this Saturday, possibly up 9W to Perkins (ending in Peekskill), South Mountain to The Orchards, or the Knot. I'm open to suggestions for mid-distance fun rides with some scenery and climbing, but doable for those of us having a bit of a . . . gentle start to the season. If there's interest, let's talk and I can submit it to Bob as an A-ride.

A great ride for a great cause (with free food!)
NYCC Riders,
I'm looking for experienced cyclists to marshal the 8, 20, 45, 62, or 100 mile bike routes for this year's Tour de Cure. Not only will it be a great day on the bike (all routes except the 8 go over the bridge), but all volunteers will receive free breakfast, lunch, and a Tour de Cure volunteer T-shirt (you may even be back in time to take advantage of the massage tables).
