CANCELLED Looking for riders interested in a weekend trip to Montauk 6/17-6/19
Hi everyone, cancelling the ride due to the challenges raised in the comment to the post. Potentially thinking to reschedule if there is interest.
Hi all,
I'm thinking about organizing a trip to the Hamptons 6/17 through 6/19 and renting an airbnb in Montauk and wanted to see if we can get a group together. The idea is to take the train there and take our bikes on the train, and do some rides in the area, do some hiking, go to the beach if the weather is nice and hangout in Montauk, Sag Harbor, etc. I can work on a full plan once I see that there is interest and we know how many people are in.

Newcomer’s Ride
Thank you to the Events Coordinator for a job well done today! My B-18 group were all appreciative for the excellent job and asked if it could happen every weekend! The food was great, we were in and out quickly, and the place was packed with cyclists! Thank you!
Breakdown of all of Saturday's rides by classification.
No A newcomers' rides? (Not that I am. I am not.)
Stay tuned for final breakdown by classification of the club's rides this Saturday.
MUST reading: Dangerous streets, dangerous drivers, lackadaisical (at best) enforcement, unconcerned pols.
There's a lot here. Read it! All of it. And think of our Hindy Schacter.
Looking for riding partners, B15-ish.
Hi all. I'm new to NYCC. I used to ride frequently to Nyack and vicinity, but have been 'away from the scene' for a while. I'm currently a B15-ish rider who's getting back into it, and am looking for people to ride with on Saturdays or Sundays when there isn't a club ride fitting that bill, starting maybe with 40 mile rides and building up some speed and distance. I'm in Queens but happy to meet in Manhattan.

Restrooms at alpine headquarters
Are the restrooms at the Alpine interstate headquarters available for cyclists? I was told portosan service was restored.
Escape New York's tasteless Memorial Day Advertisement
As a combat veteran, I was taken aback by the ENY Memorial Day e-mail/Ad. This is a distasteful exploitation for commercial purposes of a holiday intended to honor our war dead, and the NYCC should be cognizant of that. Having lost brothers in battle, and the continued loss due to suicides by brave veterans, shame on the NYCC/ENY. Our community just lost 2 veterans in the NYC area in the last two weeks due to PTSD and them taking their own lives. So this flippant advertisement is truly in poor taste. It is a special time of year for us and always feels a bit empty knowing there are warriors no longer here with us, and we celebrate/remember the sacrifice they made.
Rim tape question
One of my bikes is a hybrid that came with 700x38 tires that I replaced with 700x32. These have been giving me trouble.
Piermont/Grandview River Road Conditions
Anyone have an update on the construction of River Road in Grandview between Piermont and Nyack? I rode (barely) three weeks ago and they seem to be at their worst state. Does that mean they're close to done? It's taken them forever. Any idea on how to track progress of the project?
