Is Perkins (aka Bear Mountain) open?
It's been closed due to storm damage for so long I lost track. Wonder if it's finally open?
Happy Birthday to Richard Rosenthal
Happy Birthday to Richard Rosenthal, who turns 85 today!
Nearly 10 years ago I was honored to speak about Richard for NYCC Lifetime Membership, and I am delighted that he remains a friend and continues to contribute actively to the life of the Club.

Hi everyone,
You have a choice for Club President this year, and I wanted to post a few words about why I believe I am the club’s best choice going forward, and why you should vote for me.

Riverside Drive - LOOK OUT FOR PEDESTRIANS
Hi All,
I’m as passionate about cycling as most NYCC members, so I will always stand up for road safety and making riding safer in the city.
Living in the UWS, I’m lucky to have Riverside Park and Riverside Drive right by my doorstep. But when I take my son out in his stroller on the weekends, it’s often ridiculous how fast road cyclists ride and how ignorant many / most of them are towards red lights and hence pedestrians crossing Riverside Drive, causing really dangerous situations for all. This is especially true for riders heading back into the city.
Henry Hudson Bridge
Is there now a temporary bike lane on the Henry Hudson Bridge?
Talent Cycles by City College
Hi:
Does anyone know if Talent Cycles by City College is still in business? Any experiences with them? I have a Trek that needs to be looked at. I don't want to have to trek down to W72 & Broadway from the NW Bx.
Thanks

NYC Marathon November 3
Will there be a NYC Marathon ride this year?
NW CT - seeking route input
Seeking route input for a train-assisted ride to a friend's place in Lakeville. My riding companion has been having a hard time on hills lately, so a goal is to minimize hills to the extent possible in this hilly area. Would the road conditions on this ride be OK? We ride touring bikes that manage OK on gravel.

(The obvious choice -- the rail trail via Millerton -- is the plan for the return trip. I'm looking for something different on the way there and am excited about going through a covered bridge and having food options in Kent, unless there is a strong reason to avoid.)
Thanks for any input!
