NYCC Racing Program?
I've too often and painfully heard many cyclists in the wider cycling community describe NYCC as an overly intimidating club.
Deserved or not, this shackles the club.
Promotion of this 'racing program' underlines this reputation, sending competitive cues into the world...in this case the wrong signal to many looking for a comfortable home.
It has a better home at CRCA in my view.

What (appropriately) was NOT in this NYT story about a NYC bike shop.
The Times ran an article ten days ago about Frank's Bike Shop on the Lower East Side. www.nytimes.com/2016/11/20/nyregion/franks-bike-shop-neighborhood-joint.html Of course we, with our expensive bikes and upscale everything else would never have any interest in such an old-line, downscale bike shop which is merely far closer to the center of cycling than any we do patronize.
