What (appropriately) was NOT in this NYT story about a NYC bike shop.
The Times ran an article ten days ago about Frank's Bike Shop on the Lower East Side. www.nytimes.com/2016/11/20/nyregion/franks-bike-shop-neighborhood-joint.html Of course we, with our expensive bikes and upscale everything else would never have any interest in such an old-line, downscale bike shop which is merely far closer to the center of cycling than any we do patronize.
Trump and a bicycle shop?!
Did you see/note/get the visual joke in this week's alt. pic-of-the-week?

crossing seven lakes to bear
does anyone know of the legality of walking on the grass with a bike between 7 lakes drive and bear mountain exit 17. i asked a few people but wanted further assurance that this is safe.
extra/left over cassette cogs, spacers, chain rings?
Basically . . anything circular from a bike? (except chains)
I'd like to do a holiday project with them. (And - - happy to help ya clear out some old stuff laying around :>)
Thank you!
Has anyone ever approached Bear from the Gatehill direction.
Was thinking about new route options. I normally approach Bear from either 9w or from Seven lakes. I've never ridden GateHill/Ceder Flats going North (I've only done it South ala GFNY route). Any fans? It seems mostly downhill after doing the WillowGrove/Gatehill Strava segment which was a little disappointing.

Commuting to midtown Manhattan from eastern Queens - your favorite route?
Anyone care to drop some commuting knowledge on me?
I recently moved from Park Slope, one of the most bike commuter-friendly neighborhoods in the city, to Forest Hills — a neighborhood that I've known, and have now experienced, to be very very car-centric.
I've been troubleshooting my commute to the far-West side of midtown Manhattan. At the same time, I'm slowly learning which roads in Queens to avoid. (Like Myrtle Avenue for instance, which is just pure vehicular manslaughter.)
A really fine essay about challenging bike tours and less challenging ones.

Would anyone have a great playlist they can make available to our holiday party? Thanks, Bob
