“Old Closter Dock Road”
On Saturday morning, February 3, Eric Nelsen will lead a winter history hike to explore part of the riverfront settlement known in the nineteenth century as Closter Landing. Hikers will meet at 10 AM at the Park Headquarters, accessible from the Alpine park entrance (click here for detailed directions). This is a free program, open to all, with NO advance registration required. This hike, about 3 miles round-trip and taking about 2 hours, traverses some steep slopes and is rated moderate.
To confirm if weather is questionable on the morning of this hike, or if trails may be too icy to conduct the hike, please call 201-768-1360 and enter ext. 108.

I just found an easy way to make your bike lighter
Take it with you into Gristede's on First Ave. @66th St. When you leave ten minutes later, it'll be lighter by whatever is—or, as the case is, was—the weight of your Garmin.
