Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand cycling
I hope to visit Hawaii, Australia, and New Zealand in January and February and am interested in cycling tours, camps, and/or towns that may provide a good cycling base. I am primarily interested in challenging road cycling but may also consider trips that include other activities. I am not looking for luxury accommodations and I am not interested in high-end tour operators such as Backroads. I would welcome any suggestions or guidance. Thank you.
Prospect Park Loops, Anyone?
I just became a member today and I'm excited to meet local fellow bike enthusiasts. I'm wondering if anyone is doing rides in Prospect Park during the mid-morning or early afternoon on weekdays? I work from home, so I try to get in some loops on my bike whenever the Park is quietiet. If anyone is interested in joining me (I go at a 14 mph pace), let me know! THANKS!
Free Shoes
Diadora mountian bike shoes with mounted SPD cleats. Men's size 9.5 US, they seemed a little small so I didn't use them much and they have sat in my closet for the most part. If you are a 9 they will probably fit you better. Pick up in East Village. Drop me a note or a line.

Training DVDs - any suggestions?
Hi All. I need to train this winter as I signed up for La Vuelta PR. I was thinking of doing some indoor training with my bike trainer when the weather gets unbearable. Can anyone suggest what DVDs have been helpful, interesting and not boring to keep using?
Thanks.
Feedback
I like the weather/extended forcast feature. Thanks!
If one of the objectives of the new site was to prevent anonymous posts on the message board we need to try again. Other Enhancements:
1) Consider adding a feature that will allow a user to choose to stay logged in for 3 days or so.
2) Consider reordering the ride listing columns to Date/Time/Level/Distance/Name/Leader/Spots Remaining.
3) In the actual ride description, consider adding the Day of week under "Ride Information" (right hand column).

9W Magazine
A quick note to announce the arrival of Issue # 2 of 9W Magazine- a journal of cycling photography and stories. We'll be at Sid's Bikes on 19th street on Wednesday night, Nov 10th. Starting at 7PM, Bottlerocket Wine Shop will be pouring, and Garmin will be showing off their new fancy-pants computer. So come on out!
Hope you can make it. If you can't, you can get the magazine on the website: 9wmag.com.
Cheers!
Ride listings and ease of reading
I would much rather see the ride listings with day of the week as opposed to or in addition to the date. The day is the first thing I look for. If the date is the only info, I have to consult a calendar to check what day it is. This is a step backward, in my opinion.
Website volunteers - Jim R webmaster
A few folks have already stepped forward. While it would be ideal if the club had members who have years of professional Drupal or PHP experience, that isn't likely. However, a power user willing to have a good look at a Drupal book or at a Drupal online tutor, or an experienced developer willing to do the same with PHP/MySQL, could be a big help with putting a culture of competence around this website. Willingness to learn and willingness to be a careful team player are the requirements. (Any mind-bending problems: We will either pay for solutions or do without.) I will try to put together a meeting for next week. Send me your email...no commitment involved.
Contacting webmaster and other officers
While the menu structure can be modified in the future, the list of officers is currently under "News & Info", then "About". Their NYCC emails won't work until I get a chanct to add them in hopefully tomorrow. Then, you will be able to click on the position to write to the treasurer or president or vp of rides or whoever you need.
