Lancaster trip for July
Last year, a small group and I went out to Lancaster County by bike from Philadelphia. Other than getting soaked in the rain, we had a great time. I'm up for doing it again this year but in July not August, specifically July 24-27th. Looking at a cost of $350/person. Interested? Contact me.
Catskills trip?
Anyone intrested in a multi-night, Sunday - Tuesday, trip to Catskills? Staying over at a hotel in Fleischmanns NY from whence we can ride to Big Indian etc.
Options include taking Metro North to Poughkeepsie and riding to the hotel or possibly renting a van and driviing up. Assuming we go by train and everyone pays their own rail fare, the price should come out around $365/person double occupancy or $420 single occupancy.

I'm the guy whose shoe started coming apart on the way to the bridge this morning. I decided to not continue without a new shoe and not chance crossing the bridge and go to the bike shop on Hudson Terrace. I went to Toga and got new shoes and also new pedals. My cleats are wearing down anyway and the pedals are the same age as my shoes. My inner slacker wanted me to do a few laps and go home but I decided against that for 2 reasons. One is that I would like to get some miles in and, two, I know that the park on a Saturday would drive me insane! So I went up to GWB and up 9w to the NYS border, turned around and went home. All total, door to door, 52 miles. So my inner slacker was slapped down a bit.
Early Morning Spin to Bear Mountain - the ride is ON
Bring some pocket food and dress in layers. We will depart promptly at 7:00 am from 72nd / Riverside. 7:40 from the NJ side of GWB. See you in the morning.

2 Available Charity slots for 5 Boro Bike Tour - VIP Start
2 slots are available to ride for Bronxworks, a social service agency, with the proceeds going to children's programs at 3 Bronx shelters for homeless families:

This is the first year that the bike tour is not buying back unused charity slots (they've also significantly increased their entry fee), so we'd really like to fill them. Please email me with any questions.
