SUNDAY 1/15, B/50+, Winter Training & Fun! #3 “Plains of White”
START: Meets 10:00 AM at Barking Dog - 94 Street & Third Avenue
FINISH: 4:00 PM at a subway in the Bronx -- with optional "destination" pizza at Lou & Ernie's
http://www.yelp.com/biz/louie-and-ernies-pizza-bronx-2
LEADERS: Michael Notaro, Fred Harris, Neile Weissman
WHAT: An out and back from the upper East Side towards White Plains, finishing in the North Bronx. Temps wont break out the 20's so we won't go too far north. Some hills to keep warm but the likelihood of frozen runoff means we want to stay off the steeper back roads. One food stop in White Plains. We'll break out into two groups, slower + faster.
SIG A Classic
When does the registration for this year's SIG A Classic? Does anyone know?

Continuum Bike Store 199 Avenue B (bet 12 & 13) Manhattan
Has anyone dealt with Continuum Bike Store on Avenue B & 12th Street? What was your experience with the store e.g. the stock they carry, how helpful and knowledgeable are the staff, etc.
Traffic Violation Biking in Central Park
I ran a red light in Central Park (on a Saturday evening), while veering around pedestrians, so YES I was technically in the wrong. Lesson learned! But a $280 fine? I don't think so!!!
I need advice on the best way to defend myself when I go to the hearing. I'd like to have the fine dismissed.
Any advice?

Will there be C-SIG's on Saturday the 5th of May, preceding the 5-Borough Bike Tour on the 6th?
Does anybody know? What's been done in the past? Much appreciate all advice....
lose your Parlee recently?
"Are you a dentist/tri-geek who lost your totally awesome Parlee road bicycle? Well I just rescued it from a life of deliveries and potholes. Give me the serial, proof of purchase, and or complete and DETAILED description plus the $400 I gave the guy and you can have your baby back.
I really hope to find the owner of the bike because I have enough bikes and I want to do a good thing here."

Note: I am not the Craig's List poster/finder of this bike, just passing this on.
CYCLING 105- ROLLERS
Hi-ever ride with Timothy McCarthy? Ever ride with Angel Rivera? I am not sure if they road rollers in the past; BUT they ride like cyclists who DID. Rollersteach you to be SMOOTH; you get a good workout and learn how to ride smooth and in a straight line. If you fight with your bike; rollers are the answer. They are not as prevalent as in the past-many racers still use them in the off months; but they are a great training tool. On January 19th, The Century Road Club is promoting a fundraiser roller race at: Amity Hall 80 West 4th street. Go watch!

Cycling Coast-to-Coast for Cancer
My name is James Schwabacher. I'm a freshman at American University in Washington, DC. I grew up on Staten Island, where I would frequently bike ride along the board walk. Following my love of cycling, I've decided to join 4k for Cancer in riding 4,000 miles across America this summer. The route is 70 days, beginning in Baltimore, MD and ending in Seattle, WA. Every day we ride between 50 and 130 miles, depending on terrain and route. Along the way, the 4k team seeks to raise cancer awareness and perform community service. Each rider must fund-raise a minimum of $4,500.
