Chances are you know the Stephen Crane quote, "Everything is bicycle." Here is its wonderful source...
Yes, that Stephen Crane. As in "Red Badge of Courage." Dead at the age of 28. In 1900. So you know anything he has to say about the wonder of bicycles is dated because it, uh, ahem, precedes automobiles. Nevertheless, isn't this terrific? From1896.

Another NYCC Member Doing Good
In the past few weeks, there have been requests for donations for many wonderful cycling causes and events--I'm adding one more!
This spring season I am skipping SIGGING, (miss everyone), to instead ride with Team In Training - a fundraising program with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I am currently training to ride a Century ride in Lake Tahoe on June 3rd.

Looking for a ride to the Berkshires!
Yes, certainly I could take the train up (and I will if things work out that way), but it would be so much more luxurious to arrive in style in a car for my first Berkshires voyage!
I live on the UWS, have flexible leaving times on Fri (and Mon) and I own a bike rack that holds 3 bikes. I'm staying in Sheffield. Anyone have an extra seat in their car?
Thanks!
