We are very happy to announce that Randy Cohen, the program's featured speaker and esteemed author and humorist, has consented to sign purchased copies of his new book : "Be Good: How To Navigate the Ethics of Everything" from 6:00-6:45 PM at next Tuesday's NYCC meeting. For the few "late comers", Randy will sign again, after he is completed with his presentation at about 8:45 PM.

The revised meeting/program schedule is:

Cocktail Time: 6-6:45 PM

Buffet Dinner: 6:45-7:30 PM

Program and Raffle: 7:30-8:45 PM

Location: Annie Mooore's Restaurant and Pub, 50 E. 43rd St. (bet. Mad. and Vanderbilt Aves.)

Anyone know how to get ridewithgps.com to print notes on the cuesheet (e.g., lunch stops, cautions, etc.)?  I entered lunch and water stops onto my route and they show up on the monitor but when I generate a cuesheet, they don't appear

Seriously, this BB has been overrun of late...

The powers that be - CPC I believe - should take the initiative to effect a positive change for Central PARK after the recent and unfortunate bike/runner accident in CP and the ensuing crackdown.

Eliminating cars from the park 24/7/365 would go a long way towards improving safety of both pedestrians and cyclists. It is a PARK after all why are cars allowed to drive through it at any time?

Two of the most significant problems in the park are

1. too many people crammed into a limited space and

2. variability of the rules depending on the time of day (ie whether or not cars are in the park or not) making compliance confusing and sewing the seeds for hostility among different groups of users

weather looks shaky, A19+ CP laps are cancelled for tomorrow morning

At about 10:15 this morning, while running on the Central Park trails by West 79^th Street, we saw a cyclist in handcuffs on the West Drive.  Coincidentally, another friend was running by and stopped there, asking the cyclist what happened (while he was standing there handcuffed).  The cyclist said he had run a red light, “along with 10 other people.”  I suspect he must have protested too much to the police, so they cuffed him and took him away.  He wasn’t a tourist on a rental bike, he looked like a local in spandex.
