Sandy, club elections, etc

Submitted by EJaffe on Wed, 10/31/2012 - 10:53am

I hope everyone is okay and doing their best through this disaster.....if not your property then at least yourself.

We are without power, internet, cell service in soho but with some tree damage ....relative good luck.

Getting around by car looks like an endless traffic jam and the bike will reign supreme in the next weeks. (Going out to find regular, non-clipless pedals while they last.)

The club election ballot set to go up November 1 may be delayed a day or two........so stay tuned and be safe!

too bad NYC wasnt able to get its bike share program going this summer...it could have been an instant hit!

in the long run it could have created thousands of permanent bike commuting converts after given the nudge to try it out post hurricane.

anyone know if it's open yet?

Travis Magee will be showing his dance photographs here in NYC on November 16th.

Stan Oldak's (former NYCC president - 2003) daughter, Emily Oldak is one of the models and should be at show if not travelling. Link to RSVP: https://www.facebook.com/events/383963068344936/?fref=ts

When does voting for the 2013 BOD begin/end? I've seen no mention of it in the eWeekly or online.

The New York Post just doesn't quit:  Bus-Bike Cycle of Violence

"... alarming number of bike lanes cutting into bus routes"

“They are generally dangerous"

How did we do in the storm ?

.

I am surprised the scaffolding encasing my building held up (mostly).

My thoughts are with the peeps downtown and elsewhere without power.

Good luck with the cleanup.

Beware of downed wires and puddles even if you're riding your carbon carbon everything bike.
