For those who have signed up and/or plan to show up Sunday's Social Sunday ride, the weather looks great. We're definitely on! Please be on time.

Hurricane Sandy totally flooded Fairway Red Hook, and it will not reopen in time for our ride. We're still heading there, but  making a few route adjustments as to where/when/how we'll eat. The ride still passes Fairway, then continues a few more blocks to Ikea Plaza at the ~11-12 mile mark.

A large group of riders are headed to Staten Island to help with relief work. We'll ride, we'll work, we'll have a great day. Come join us! http://nycc.org/node/59932

Could anyone who manages to ride today post on the conditions in Central Park?  How much snow is covering the roads?

The L train is not running, according to MTA.info. Can someone suggest alternate directions from Upper West Side via subway to volunteer party tonight?

I know there are a few members that venture to the Mount Washington races, can anyone recommend a hotel near the base for 12/29-12/30/2012?

I am logged in, get the friendly hi so-and-so, welcome back message but try to click on the "more" button next to the events schedule.  i get a message back saying that i am denied access to this section.  is there another class of super-duper membership that i have yet to achieve that prevents me from using the "more" function?  am i being denied access because i live in new jersey?  or, is there perhaps a more nefarious reason?  and, btw, why is it we show dates from 2010?  does this mean i cannot access the schedule because i do not have a time machine?

In case you were wondering, Brigitte's Morning lap ride Thursday morning is cancelled.

I just read the posting that the park will be closed from noon Wednesday to noon Thursday. If that is truly the case, then we can't ride Thursday morning. The forecast for Thursday morning is rain, so we will probably have to cancel anyway.

Barring a major change in either weather or park closing, the ride is cancelled.

The NYC Parks Commissioner has announced that due to the anticipated storm approaching the New York area, Central Park, including all playgrounds and the Drives, will be closing from Wednesday, November 7 at noon until Thursday, November 8 at noon. The Commissioner states that this action is being taken to keep Park patrons safe during the storm.

All NYC Parks and Beaches will be closed starting at noon on Wednesday (11/7) until noon on Thursday (11/8) because of the upcoming storm. All activities in the Park during those times (greenmarket, tennis, Volunteer Corps) are cancelled.
