Bike-Ped advocates in Rutherford, NJ need signatures for a Safe Streets petition to put a fast, truck-heavy roadway on a "diet".  If you are live there, work there, travel through or have friends-relatives, please take a moment to sign the petition.  

A rider in our group found a smart phone on the road today during our fall foliage ride.  The phone was found in the middle of Chestnut Ridge Road about 16 miles into the ride.

The phone's screen is shattered but it looks like it can be turned on, so maybe some data can be salvaged.  My guess is that it fell out of someone's pocket.

Around and through a bunch of old and brand new parks along the Bronx/LI Sound waterfront to a picnic lunch at Orchard Beach. On the agenda are Concrete Plant Park, Soundview Park, Shorehaven Bikepath, Kane's Park, Pugsley Creek Park, Castle Hill Park, and Ferry Point Park. We'll also visit SUNY Maritime College and Pelham Bay Park.

Is anyone else riding from NY?

I was looking at rides posted by Ron Gentile last year going through the Jungle Habitat trails - http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1730449 or "shorter" version via Garrison http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1679012

If anyone has been there this year and could advise on the conditions that would be very helpful. Is this rideable on a regular road bike?
