Bruce Weber reads from his new book on his 2011 x-country ride, in Brooklyn, Tues eve, 3/18
NY Times reporter Bruce Weber will read from, and sign, his brand-new book, "Life Is a Wheel: Love, Death, Etc., and a Bike Ride Across America," Tuesday evening, March 18, at Book Court, 163 Court Street (just south of Pacific St, in Cobble Hill), at 7 pm.
Like me, some of you know Bruce from his superb 1990s reportage and first-person pieces for the Times on NYC utilitiarian and recreational cycling, and his current scintillating work on the paper's obit desk. You may have followed his real-time blog posts for the Times on his 2011 trip, which was his second coast-to-coast ride. He's an evocative and thoughtful writer and a good guy.

Looking for a Trainer
Title says it.. Ok so lots of used trainers out there on Ebay and CL.. How to choose.. want to spend less than 200 but want something quiet.. er yeah well relatively quiet.
So any opinions on what to avoid and inexpensive successes.. Who is really happy with their trainer..
Yeh I know it's going to get warm any day now any day.. but I am coming off a lengthy stint warming the DL bench and need that extra availability.
And away we go....
Prospect Park oassing oin the right?
I was riding in Prospect Park today and passed a woman on the left. She called me out and castiigated me for passing on her left. She said that that is very dangerous. I responded that as far as I know that passing on the left is the accepted way pf passing and in fourty years of riding that has always been the proper side. I said even mirrors are on the riders left so that they can see upcoming traffic from there left. She then insisted to me that the "rule" in the park is to pass on the right. Am I missing something?

In honour of International Women's Day - Alfonsina Strada, first and only woman to complete Giro
the wonderful story of Alfonsina Strada, who rode the Giro in 1924 officially with the men, came dead last but was celebrated by the Italian spectators every step of the way.

CLUB GEAR
The link under About Us to Club Gear page still shows the old kit no pics of people wearing the new shirt or the shirt itself.
Is there any chance that we can get an NYCC cycling cap ??
