Does anyone have grey and/or yellow cycling clothing they're looking to trash?  I'm in need of pieces to patch holes.

Thanks

Hah - I think I found an unintended use for the Strava Labs "Flybys" feature

To be fair, motorhead (imo) cyclists using the pedestrian lane as a passing lane has been a growing pet peeve of mine ever since DOT last reconfigured the lanes on the drives. Maybe not everyone feels as strongly about this as I do.

Submitted by GYang on Sun, 05/10/2015 - 3:05pm

May 12 - Be one of the first to greet newly minted B-SIG graduates as a front door greeter helping people check-in, find a place to sit, answer any questions they may have, etc...

Its not really any work and you get to join in the festivities of cheering on the new grads!

We need just one more volunteer for the evening. Let me know if you are available.

Withdrawal pains: A cynic's way to raise massive amounts of money for the NYCC

Submitted by RRosenthal on Sun, 05/10/2015 - 8:44am

The drop-out rate of those who sign-up for my rides before they show up for them this year is close to 50%. I don't take personal umbrage since most don't even know me. (It would be understandable if they did...in which case the question would be why they signed up in the first place.) Proposal: A 99¢ (or 1¢) fine payable to the club treasury for dropping out after signing up.

Nah, here's a better idea: A $10 fine but reducible to 99¢ (or 1¢) if the malingerer writes the ride leader(s) when s/he drops out explaining why.

Airbnb Brooklyn Half Marathon, May 16

Submitted by JHerzfeld on Sat, 05/09/2015 - 7:03pm

May 16th, starting at 7:00 a.m. the run will block Prospect Park, Ocean Parkway, and parts of Ocean, Parkside, Flatbush, Washington and Surf Aves. You will not be able to cycle on the course or cross over it. The Ocean Parkway greenway will probably be crowded with spectators, too. The event should be over by noon.
