People,
Historic sites in and around Tappan cancelled today, re-listed for tomorrow
It is raining hard now at 8:40 and there is a 100% probability of thunderstorms for the next coupld hours. I have re-listed the ride to tomorrow when the forecast is excellent.

Nyack Bech Hook Mt Bikeway
Has any one riden this - is it suitable for road bike? look like it would be a nice alternative to 9W between Nayack and Haverstraw.
Peekskill via Skyline and Harriman State Park Cancelled
Plenty of thunderstorm threats along our route north. Forecast substantially different in Manhattan. We will try some other weekend.
Saturday July 25th Hamptons C Ride Swim Ride to Montauk
Dear C riders,
Hamptons weather for Saturday July 25th is looking perfect for both cycling and ocean swimming. While the weather in the tri-state area arches up to 90, in the Hamptons it will be in the low 80's, low wind, overcast. Please consider joining us as we take the LIRR to Bridgehampton, cycle to East Hampton Main Beach, swim in the ocean, shower, cycle to lunch at Clam Bar, then cycle up to the Montauk Lighthouse and back down for some Roasted Vegetable Pizza and Montauk Microbrewery beer. It's the best of the Hamptons in one day, this time including what looks like the perfect weather.
You'll LUVVVV the German word I just learned in spoking a new wheel!
Doppeldickend.
It means double butted.
This is not to be confused with "schmuck," which I yelled at a German driver in a Mercedes-Benz who ran me off the road on an Italian mountain, only to later realize he probably thought I was calling his car a jewel, which is what schmuck means in German.
Heads up: 177th street milled
177th street between Ft. Washington and Cabrini has been milled. It's pretty choppy and gravelly, bad even for a milled street. Proceed with caution!
For the record, many of the streets in WaHi have been milled. In the long run this will be great, but it's taking a very long time for those streets to be paved.
Need a new floor pump
So what should I buy, for under $40 or so.
I was looking at the Joe Blow Pro and the other Joe Blows, but they all have some negative reviews describing failures within the first year. A minority to be sure, but consistent with each other.
Do you love your Joe Blow pumps? How long have you had them?
What are some good moderately priced floor pumps that will last at least a couple of years?
Thanks.
ON UPDATE: Thanks for all your advice. You've given me a few possibilities to choose from.
Reg Johnson, RIP
Reg Johnson, who with wife Tonya Harroun was in my 2005 B SIG, has passed away. His last few months were a study in bravery. You can read his obit and leave respects here.
RIP
May all who loved him find comfort.
