Bike Shop, the Musical

Submitted by jack Lehnert on Tue, 09/15/2015 - 12:20pm

Just a head's up for a one woman off off Broadway, hour and fifteen minute totally bike oriented musical.  I have not heard of the actor, but she was very talented and previously worked in a bike store and was a bike mesenger.  The show is "Bike Shop, The Musical."  It has a short run on 1st Ave. and 10th street.  If you ride your bike to the show you can place it on the stage. It felt great to be so welcomed to a show!

Cycling After Hip Replacement

Submitted by John Dutt on Mon, 09/14/2015 - 1:35pm

Anyone have any experience and advice for a grizzled cyclist contemplating hip replacement surgery? I realize there will have to be a period of rehab, but in due course do you have any issues? Can I expect to get back to "normal" riding? Thanks!

Re-build question

Submitted by EODonnell on Mon, 09/14/2015 - 7:05am

I have a 1998 Litespeed Classic, 8-speed.  I love this frame.  Unfortunately, the Ultegra components are well worn.  The right shifter has been re-built twice.  I guess I could fish around for one online, but the chain and cassette probably need replacing also.  When you add up the cost of new (admittedly undiscounted) parts, it might be… $250 (shifter) + $100 (chain and cassette?
