Cafe 181 (next to GWB path entrance) menu suggestion?

Submitted by CKendall on Tue, 04/04/2023 - 10:25pm

Hi everyone. My friend James owns Cafe 181on the corner of 181 and Cabrini, just down the street from the entrance to the GWB path. He is interested to cater to cyclist, and asks if there are particular menu items that cyclist prefer. Do you have advice?

Cafe 181, which we in the hood just call "181", is very bike friendly. In the summer there is outdoor (on a wide) sidewalk seating and the street box thing is there and in use now. James is happy to allow use of the bathrooms to riders. We've discussed him getting a bike rack, but honestly I dont know that it's needed.

if anyone has a suggestion or request please share.

thanks!

Tomorrow's C-SIG Rides are POSTPONED to Sunday

Submitted by Ness Rahmey on Fri, 03/31/2023 - 4:50pm

Due to the rainy forecast, all of tomorrow's C-SIG rides have been POSTPONED to Sunday. Let your group leader know if you will not be able to ride on Sunday, or if you have any other questions or concerns.

Does anyone know if the restrooms at the playground at W 148St/Hudson River (just north of the baseball fields, and south of the parking lot and drive in entrance from W 158th Street) are finally open and repaired?

If not, do they have any portosans as temp solutions yet?

Thank you!

Ft. Washington Repaving DONE a/o 4/14/23

They've now milled Ft. Washington from 178th St. up to at least 180th. This is an excellent sign, but while it's still milled be extra careful thru that section. It's particularly rough and has a lot of loose gravel. If you're planning to make the left turn onto 179th St, for now it would be much safer to cross 179th and wait for the light to change to cross Ft. Washington and continue on 179th.

I conferred with the Central Park Conservatory this afternoon.  They are now OK with us getting out off Park Drive by 8AM (instead of the previous 7AM).  They did ask that we break out into small groups (8-ish or so) and to be careful of dogs off leashes.  Let's be careful out there!
