Hey guys, any place people recommend for a good bike fit? Bought my bike a couple of months ago and want to get it fitted.

Thank you!

ENY Ticket now taken!

A friend of mine has an ENY ticket that they have paid for, but now can't participate because of an unfortunate slip on the bike (she'll be fine, but she's in a cast at the moment). She's looking at any options for selling it to an interested participant who has yet to buy their tickets.

Use my profile to message me if you're interested in buying a spare ticket from her, and I'll connect you!

UPDATE: Ticket claimed as of 9/19

After Escape New York, I'll work with our Content Editor, Gil Lavi, to update some information on the bike rental list on our NYCC site.

In the meantime, please note that two of our fabulous Escape New York sponsors – Unlimited Biking and Roula - have wonderful rental bikes.

Check out the Escape New York deal that Unlimited Biking is giving (https://www.unlimitedbiking.com/events/escape_new_york_bike_rentals) and check out the high-end dream bikes you or your friends can rent from Roula (https://roula.cc/) any time you want.

All -

I've got conflicting information about whether or not there will be leader-led rides for any of the distances for the ENY.

(To be clear, I am not referring to the marshals who will be out there.

Also, to be clear, I am not referring to past practices.  I am looking for information about this year.)

I would like to participate in either a leader-led 50 mile or 75 mile edition of the ride on Saturday, September 22.

Thanks a lot.

Palisades Interstate Parkway is posting Alpine Approach Road closed for spraying 5-7 September.

The NY Post and its authoritarian line

Submitted by HSchiffman on Sat, 09/01/2018 - 5:16pm

I heard David Brooks last night on the PBS Newshour explain how authoritarian regimes take the exception and present it to their base as the rule in an attempt to rouse the masses by standing between them and the Devil himself.

Here we have an opinion writer for the NY Post oppose bike lanes because young, white males on bikes are terrorizing the populous of our fair city. The author cites statistics on Citibikes as being predominately the above demographics as proof that that they are the privileged few who benefit from the leftist policies of City Hall. To which I ask you, when was the last time you were menaced by a rider on a Citibike? I believe it is called bait and switch. Why let facts get in the way of tar and feathering?
