I think the Registraion pickup is very inconvienent. why only from 6:30 Tomorrow is Yom Kipper alos some people do not work in Manhattan. Why can't it alos be during the day or have a line for pre-registration. If the club wants good participation they have to make accomidations.

A nice story

You know me mostly from my bitching. This is not that. This is a story from today's ride of spectacular kindness.

Careful! It's dangerous out there. I'm talking about walking as a pedestrian

Are cell phones and everything delivered in short bites behind a loss of attentions span and focus?

Yes, walkers amongst us while multitasking on their devices make walking less civil. And the tourist boom does slow the pace. Like children, tourists get a pass. They don't know how the city works. And they tend to be under-aggressive, more obstacle than in your face. Most of the time you can walk around them. As much as I rant about walkers running red lights, as any self-respecting New Yorker, I cross when it is safe, respecting the rights of drivers and cyclists, but not the light. Out-of-towners will wait for the light to turn green: quaint, but civil.
