An open letter to the rider who flatted before leaving the park 3 weeks ago.

Submitted by RRosenthal on Sat, 05/14/2011 - 12:28am

I'm talking to the woman* who came on my ride, I think three weeks ago. I don't have your name, e-address, or phone number and it can't be recovered from the electronic sign-in sheet.

You're a good rider and ride an expensive bike. You showed up without a tube, flatted before we even left the park, asked for a tube, and got one that other riders pretty much installed for you.

I'm looking for a used hybrid bike to commute to work. If anyone has one they are interested in selling, (perhaps someone wants to clear some room for a new road bike post SIG), please contact me. I'm 5ft 5in. Ill also check the used bike shops indicated on previous posts. Thanks. Melanie F

Morning "A" Workouts - Hoboken - Any Interest?

Submitted by CCollins on Fri, 05/13/2011 - 2:04pm

Any "A" riders in Hoboken/JC area interested in joining me for morning workouts 1-2x a week?

I have been going for an hour (clock time - 55min +/- in the saddle) at least 2 out of 3 mornings/week (every Wed and either Tue or Th or both).  Start at 6am in front of Hudson Tea bldg in Hoboken.  5+ miles dead flat along Port Imperial Blvd (right on water) to Gorge Road.   1/2 mile, 250' climb on Gorge (x3), 5+ mile return - works out to 15 mile round trip from my front door.  Hi-intensity  -  20+ in the flats, max effort on the hill.  I could be convinced to add  15-30 min to the ride on the front end and start at 5:30-5:45, but finish time is fixed (for me).

Reply offline please.

Looking for C level riders for Bloomin Metric CT ride -sunday may 22

Submitted by Nwatkins on Fri, 05/13/2011 - 1:55pm

Hi,

I was wondering if there were any c level riders going to the sunday ride in CT?

The ride is officially closed to applications, so you would have had to have signed up already.

I imagine there has to be a few like myself who have signed up and might be going with a group or solo?

Lets meetup, its easier riding in a group.

advice for selling bicycles

Submitted by SChang on Fri, 05/13/2011 - 12:09pm

I have a 55cm Columbus SLX bike equipped with a mix of Campy Super Record (1980s) era and Dura-Ace.  Has anyone had experience with trying to sell a somewhat-vintage bicycle, and where would you suggest?.....eBay, local shops, other?

Should it be broken down and sold off in bits, or as a whole?

Any thoughts about maximizing profits would be appreciated.

Thanks.
