Ok, not enough said.  Just wanted to express a sentiment that apparently many folks share, many of whom got off to a fun, safe start to long-distance cycling thanks to Maggie N.  She cetainly was a big part of our spring/summer last year.  Just wanted to say thanks.  J&J

Brewster Eats

Submitted by CCollins on Sun, 10/09/2011 - 4:39pm

If you're passing through Brewster on a ride and are hungry, then try the "Pizza Place - Trattoria II" on Main St - stone's throw east of the train.   We stopped there yesterday - slices, garlic knots, pasta fagioli, chicken soup...everything was delicious, the place is clean and welcoming, and the guys behind the counter were delightful.  Spend your money here.

Bicycle maintenance classs

Submitted by tfan on Fri, 10/07/2011 - 10:25am

Hello. I'd love to get some bike maintenance class from a bike shop or a private person. I live in Brooklyn, so I'd love to get it here. I know about Bike Habitat, but does anyone else know of a shop or person who gives lessons. Many thanks

Fixed/Singlespeed Central Park Laps

Submitted by comptechgsr on Thu, 10/06/2011 - 4:27pm

Hello All,

I wanted to see if there's any interest in putting together a few rides but with fixed/singlespeed bicycles in mind.  Any bikes would be welcome (as long as they adhere to safety, skill-level, pace, etc.), but I think a group for fixed gear and singlespeed could be great.

I've been riding my fixed gear a lot more lately to beef up my legs and sharpen my pedal stroke, but it's weirding pacing myself with fellow roadbike riders (I go slower uphills, limited by my crankspeed downhill, etc.).

Anywho, post here if you're interested and maybe we can organize something.
