Can someone tell me where to get free local maps for garmin 800

Hi, bike tourer here. I've been doing a few test rides and want to plan out something a bit longer for training and to adjust the fit on my rig before I head to the Pyrenees in May.

So, last week I rode out to Harriman State Park and came back the next day. A bit of a frustrating ride out there as the cables on my new bike stretched out enough to prevent my front derailleur from shifting to my smallest cog. Anyway that got fixed, got up there, camped out, all was well.

I'm going to do it again, but instead of coming back I'd like to continue my journey on to Woodstock.

I haven't found a great/safe/scenic route to take quite yet. Any help? I've searched crazyguy to no avail.

For those of you who are doing Saturday April 21st race (and read this prior) the forecasted temp is 43 degrees at 6AM and 45 degrees at 7AM.  Recomend that you wear EXTRA clothing to the race; so as not to be chilled at the start.  There is a guarded place near registration that you can leave a bag during the race.

As for what to wear for the race:  make sure your hands are warm.  I would wear long tights-need not be heavy as you will warm-up; may want to wear something over them in getting to the race and warming up-till about 5 minutes before.

Probably toe warmers; IF they don't delay entry into pedals; wool socks or equilvalent(ie.  heat-teck from uniqlo)

Although the cyclist was riding well to the right, there was little traffic. I was running on the granite paved gutter, all the way to the right. As the cyclist passed me, I began to step to the left to pass a slower running in front of me. Had the runner not been in the gutter as well, I would have passed to the right. 

The visibility was unobstructed and the cyclist should have given more space passing runners in any case. However, he should have anticipated that I was about to pass the runner in front of me.

There was no accident and I doubt the cyclist even gave it a thought that we almost collided.

detour uses  Brodway/505 Livingston/Paris both ways    according to Norwood PD

Can someone post a link to this route? I can't seem to find it on Ride w/GPS. There seem to be many routes, but not the one I'm looking for.
