Richard Sachs Frames -- Is it Worth it?
I am about to pony up my $400 to get on the Richard Sachs waiting list. Is his work really worth a 7 year wait?
CYCLING 106
How about a couple of drills? Indoors on a spin bike; hopefully you have access to one of the fancy ones that gives RPM-if not count revolutions for 15 seconds-multiple by 4=RPM Try 3 minutes at 90RPM-with resistance to give you a bit of effort.(after warming up a short bit) and then do 100RPM-the drill part of this is to be at 90 and also at 100 RPM by checking every 40-50 seconds; or so-you should be between 87-93 and 97-103 every time you check-this shows consistancy and smoothness. Other drill -Central Park and probably available in Prospect-without bothering runners- ride in the narrow strip"between the 2 white lines" that separates the left recreational lane from "traffic lanes. At WORST you should stay within the pain

New Wheelset: Light or Aero?
It's time for new wheels and I am looking at Rolf Elan Alpha's at 23mm and 1335 grams vs the Rolf Vigor Alpha's at 33mm amd 1480 grams.
If they were both the same weight it would be an easy choice to go with the more aero wheels, but since weight is a factor and I like to climb (yeah, that's crazy) I am torn between the two.
Any feedback and first hand on road reviews would be appreciated. It may help to know that I am 5'9" and 150 lbs.
Thanks.
WANTED: Are you completely fluent in Italian?
I have reprints of six Gazzetta dello Sport, going back to the 1920s with articles about the Giros. I seek to have translated quotations by some of racing's gods: Merckx, Bartali, Coppi, et al. Please write (envelope icon) or call me (212-371-4700) if you are interested and fluent in Italian. Your pay: a bike jersey with some of your translations. (Disclosure: It may be none of the articles have quotations.)
