Hello, new to the group and I'll be riding the 5 Boro ride for the first time this year.

Does anyone have any info on hotels that are bike friendly and in the $100 - $200 range for one night, possilby near the staring point.

My sister Eve and her daughter Emma, age 11, live in Tarrytown. They have been underwhelmed by the local bike store as they lost my sister's 1982 Ross for several months when Eve brought it in for a tune up. Now Eve and Emma want to buy new bikes, a hybrid for my sister and a 24 inch for Emma. 

I'd love any recommendations of bike stores in the Tarrytown area/Mt Kisco etc. While I like the Piermont store, I don't want to send them over the Tappan Zee if I don't have to.

I seem to have gotten tricked into signing up for Active Advantage without my realizing it. It's a $59.95 charge to my credit card that I did not intend to authorize, I have no idea how it happened.  I put it in dispute. Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks to all for a great ride yesterday!  This route, devised by Tim McCarthy, featured a lot of climbing, and there was some interesting debate about total elevation gain over the course.

Sunday’s race will have an incredibly long start.  The race has been structured to spread out the start of 15,000 runners over 40 minutes.   This will keep the line of runners thinner and not crowd the roadway as much as it normally would.  Let’s see what really happens.
