Can anyone explain to me how to make the average speed calculated on the Garmin 800 to be moving speed instead of overall average speed? It used to show me this on the Ativities page and for some reason it is no longer showing that. Also, i would love for the Garmin to just register moving speed on the device. Does it have something to do with "Auto Pause"??

Just wanted to alert everyone to a very dangerous situation on East drive in central park.  DOT is removing the bike/recreation lane markings with a massive blow torch near north meadow and the 102nd st entrance (between the reservoir and the descent before harlem hill).  They are taking up the entire recreation lane to do this work, but it's just 2 guys in hard hats with a couple traffic cones as the only indication that work is happening.

I have just acquired a new frame and so the hunt for parts begins.

I am pretty sure I am going Campy on this.. not sure which group yet Chorus or below... I want to do the compact crank thing but would like some feedback on what gearing other members are riding. FYI I do the regular club type routes on the Jersey side and up into Rockland.. Please lets not start a Sram Vs Shimano Vs Campy discussion.. I want to talk about gear ratios cassettes etc. that will work for me so I can enjoy brisk riding.. long all day stuff and get up Clausland without needing an EKG half way.  What combos have worked for others..

I recently led a climbing-intense ride doing Dead Presidents via the "Old Italian town" detour to the GWB, plus 3 Alpine repeats, and found my Garmin's elevation data differed by a few hundred feet from another rider's cycle computer. I'm hoping I can claim my full 6431 ft of elevation gained over our 54 miles with a clear conscience. ;]

Anybody have any insight available to share on this issue?
