Cyclists Hijack Ferry

Submitted by NWeissman on Mon, 05/06/2013 - 10:28pm

A friend and I are coming into Manhattan on the Staten Island Ferry.  He’s agitated because he’s running late for a dance recital.

His plan was to get up to World Trade Center PATH by 3:00.  Hoboken by 3:30.  Shower-change and PATH back over to Manhattan by 5:00.

But it’s already 3:30 and PATH is closed to bikes for the evening rush.

Wags on (Le ) Tour

Submitted by vinlaw on Mon, 05/06/2013 - 8:35pm

It seems to be official now that Froome will lead Team Sky on the Tour while Wiggins is supposed to make do with the Giro. There was also quite a bit of back and forth between the wives and girlfriends. I have, probably unsuccessfully, posted the link below.

I think it's been a while since there was this obvious discord between two contenders on the same team. Probably Lemond/ Hinault.

Berkshires Accommodation - Parry House and Racebrook Lodge

Submitted by BAshmore on Mon, 05/06/2013 - 6:58pm

Two items of interest for those looking:

(1) Parry House

Parry House - a B&B at 73 South St in Great Barrington (in town so no car necessary) - has three rooms available as of today, when I spoke to Roberta. Great continental breakfast (but not cooked).

I've stayed in all three rooms in the past - it's a low-key, friendly, centrally-located B&B run by Roberta Parry who, if you happen to need it, will also be happy to officiate at your wedding.

Room #1 $95 shares bathroom with #2.

Room #2 $95 shares bathroom with #1.

Room #3 $135 ahs private bathroom and balcony.

Looking to borrow a bike rack that fits 4 for Berkshire Weekend

Submitted by lauren.jones02 on Mon, 05/06/2013 - 1:55pm

Does anyone have a bike rack that they would be willing to lend out for memorial day weekend (I am happy to pay for borrowing too :))? I already have a rack for 2 bikes, but have 4 people coming so hoping to not have to buy another rack.

It is for a Mercedes '98 c class sedan.

Thanks! Lauren

Getting my bike to Europe for a bike tour?

Submitted by jwah on Sun, 05/05/2013 - 2:58pm

Hey Everyone!  Could use some bike travelling advice here -

I'm travelling to Provence this July to partake in a cycling tour in the area - and I was wondering - can anyone offer advice on travelling/shipping a bike over?  Seems like it might be quite a hassle to carry a bike around on a plane or by train - so I'd like to hear what other people have done in terms of riding overseas with their bike.

If anyone has any recommendations, I'd certainly be open to them.  Thanks in advance!
