I posed this on the facebook page, but posting here as well. Apparently it's been known that crossing with a bike here is illegal, yet the NYCC does rides that use this as a crossing.  On the facebook page, is yet another example of cyclists getting tickets.
I know the NYCC is very good about advising its members to honor the traffic rules around Piermont with regard to the traffic light there, and the single file rule. The club is also good about advising members to follow the rules of Central Park and honor the speed limit restrictions etc. Why does the club lead rides from Seven Lakes to Bear Mountain coming from the west if the intersection is not legal for cylists to cross on?

Now that I am happily back on my bike following 10 weeks of painful rehab (which is continuing) after rotator cuff surgery, I need to know who thoughtfully stepped up to volunteer as the NYCC captain for Gran Fondo NJ. More importantly, I need to know the team discount code today, so that I can use it today, as the registration fee jumps up tomorrow on July 1st. I have participated in this wonderful event for the last three years and am thrilled to be back in training to do again. If you love cycling through gorgeous countrysides, riding challenging courses, and feasting at the best after-party, this event is for you!

The Times has a health blog post by Jane Brody about sun damage, linking to a guide by the Environmental Working Group, a research organization, that ranks sunscreen products.

I was shocked that the common brand I have been using for several years (Banana Boat Sport Performance, and the Target equivalent) are among the lowest ranked, including SPF 50, and includes worrisome ingredients. I'm switching.
