Ft. Washington Repaving DONE a/o 4/14/23

Submitted by CWaaser on Wed, 03/29/2023 - 1:38pm

They've now milled Ft. Washington from 178th St. up to at least 180th. This is an excellent sign, but while it's still milled be extra careful thru that section. It's particularly rough and has a lot of loose gravel. If you're planning to make the left turn onto 179th St, for now it would be much safer to cross 179th and wait for the light to change to cross Ft. Washington and continue on 179th.

My team and I are working on a project to improve NYC bike infrastructure (especially Chinatown) and enhance utilization. Can you or a team member please take the time to answer a couple questions regarding potential challenges you've experienced riding in the city?"

I conferred with the Central Park Conservatory this afternoon.  They are now OK with us getting out off Park Drive by 8AM (instead of the previous 7AM).  They did ask that we break out into small groups (8-ish or so) and to be careful of dogs off leashes.  Let's be careful out there!

ISO: Replacement for useless Patrone+ and visor for s-Works Prevail

Submitted by jiberger18 on Mon, 03/27/2023 - 8:25pm

Have anyone found a decent visor for my very nice s-works Prevail--great hemet but it really could use a visor;

AND need replacement for my useless, badly-desinged CatEye Padrone+ -- not a Waze, please--something simple that just covers the basics, about the same size, and is wireless. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Ride safely.

Interested in co-leading or joining B-16 Central Park laps in the mornings?

Submitted by danielapedraza4... on Sun, 03/26/2023 - 11:57pm

Hello! My name is Daniela, I am a NYCC member since 2021, year when I completed the b-17 SIG training. I am interested in organizing and co-leading a weekly B-16 ride in Central Park in the mornings. I have flexibility around the scheduling and can consider the availability of another co-leader or potential riders.

I am roughly thinking:

- Monday, Wednesday or Friday starting at 7 or 7:15 am

- 3 laps or a combination of laps and hill repeats

Ride with GPS

Submitted by mjdanis on Sat, 03/25/2023 - 2:06pm

Hello all,

Trying to figure this out. In my past club if you became a member Ride with GPS was included to have a subscription that goes beyond just seeing the route. You'd be able to engage the app to be a navigator folloing and announcing the turns. Does NYCC offer this free subscription? I have tried to locate information and could not. thanks for answering in advance for those that can provide any information.

All the best,

Matthew
