Minimum tire pressure
If you remember Clif Kranish, this may interest you.
In the early 1990s, or maybe going back to the late 1980s, Clif was the editor of the club's monthly printed newsletter and the club treasurer.
His brother, Mike Kranish, is an investigative reporter. In 2012, when he was working for the Boston Globe, he co-wrote "The Real Romney," the newsmaking and news-breaking book about Mittens. He now works for the Washington Post and his JUST published book about Donnie, "Trump Revealed," is THE BIG NEWS item of the day. He appeared on the oh, so serious Sunday morning TV talk shows and on NPR. How good is the book? Donnie said "Don't read it. It's boring." But, as we know from his having said he gets his information from TV, Donnie doesn't read.

Broken Spokes
Just broke my third spoke this month (rear wheel). I've put about 1,000 miles on the bike this summer, and about 1,000 miles over the last 5 years (2,000 total).
Bike shop says that because this is the third broken spoke they want to rebuild the wheel.
Does that sound right to you all? Is that a safety issue? Do I just buy a new wheel? I really dont want to have a crappily rebuilt wheel fail at 35 mph on 9W.

Cyclist Says Uber Driver Assaulted Her In Front Of Cops & They Did Nothing
Another typical day in the life of a city cyclist.

Nova Scotia & PEI?
Heading over to Prince Edward Island shortly. Passing Nova Scottia on the way. Looking for some good riding opportunity in either locale.
Anyone done much riding in either? Cares to recommend places they truly enjoy in your trip there?
I know PEI is famous as a cycling destination. NS is lessor known but no less suitable. I'm looking for more 1st hand of what the riding is REALLY like: scenery, terrain, favorite destination that stands out etc.
More specifically, looking for a few candidate "day tour" loops, if you have any suggestions. 50-60 mile, give or take. Great scenery a high priority, cute (seaside?) villages along the way would be even better.
New New York Cycle Club Tradition
Did you see the current President’s message? It’s a new New York Cycle Club tradition – the Volunteer of the Month award! It starts at the September membership meeting. Beginning September 13th and continuing each and every month thereafter, at each membership meeting, a volunteer will be signaled out for their exemplary contribution to the fun of our club.
An accident today showed what a great club we have
We had a "crash" today on 9W about 2.5 miles north of Palisade Avenue on my ride to The Market. One of our riders touched my wheel and went down. She may have had a slight concussion but nothing showed up on the CatScan and she appears to be 100% OK. It's the old story -- many if not most accidents occur close to home.
Judge Bans Actress From Driving After NYPD Waives Charges in Cyclist Death
Glad to see at least one judge is taking this seriously even if the NYPD are not
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — An aspiring actress who fatally struck a cyclist while lost and distracted by her cellphone was barred by a judge from driving in New York — despite police letting her drive away from the scene without charges.
