Riders on West Side Highway yesterday
Anyone know what the ride was that came down the west side highway with a police escort around 11am Sunday morning?
Statistical oddity of the names of our incoming board members
26 letters in the alphabet.
14 members of the board.
4 of their last names start with the same letter.
That's 26%.
_____________
As it happens, the name of the candidate who withdrew also started with that same letter.
How has Bicycling Mag managing to lose $1,000,000 annually with virtually no competition?
According to NY Post Oct 20 piece, Hearst who purchased Rodale Publishing, may sell it & Runner's World
Riding from the Boathouse to Tour de Bronx start anyone?
I’m registered to do the 42 mile version of TdB. I’ll be riding up from near Centeal Park ( Columbus Circle or the Boathouse).
Anyone else going up to the TdB and want to ride up together?
Probably leaving around 8:45-9’ish...
Anyone up for Bear Mountain ride on Sat/Sun?
Hi everyone,
I’m a cyclist from Finland, spending this week in NYC. I rented a road bike and would love to ride to Bear Mountain and back. Since I don’t know the area or routes, it would be nice to join an organized ride, or at least someone who knows the routes. I’m a midpack rider, can ride in paceline and can hold 20 mph on flats for longer trips.
Anyone planning to go on this weekend (21-22 Oct) ?
Elections: Ballot Preview
With nominations having closed at our October meeting and Michelle Gordon having withdrawn, this year's ballot will show the following candidates:
Bridgegate, Part 2: 92 NYCCers are signed up for today's ABC ride. Think of the back-up waiting to climb the bridge stairs.
As of 2:42AM Saturday, the day of the ride, the sign-ups are down to 80 with 14 leaders. There's another ride listed that starts at the same place that has 17 riders plus 3 leaders. However, inasmuch as 2 of those 3 leaders also listed themselves among the 14 leaders of that larger ride, and this other ride has a different start time, a different route and, by description, wouldn't seem to integrate with the other two clubs, which I gather is the point of the overall ride, the NYCC-ABC total is likely 92. Still, adding 92 to all the people coming from the Westchester Club headed across the bridge at the same time, plus miscellaneous others going on other rides should make for a tie-up on the bridge.
Looking for someone to help me scout a "C" ride this weekend
Hi:
I'm looking for a few people that would like to help me scout a "C" ride this weekend, with the goal of posting the ride for either Sunday, October 29th or Saturday, Nov 4th. Your more than welcome to co-lead the ride with me when it is posted.
I've picked 3 rides form the library that seem interesting. All the rides I picked are in Westchester. The rides are:
