There are substantial concrete barricades up now on the greenway where it intersects road crossings. Mostly large concrete barricades placed at an angle on the path. It's there for obvious reasons, but be aware, and leave extra time at busy times as there will likely be bottlenecks

scratched/damaged carbon fiber frame

Submitted by EODonnell on Wed, 11/01/2017 - 10:10am

I shipped my bike from Cali and didn't pack it so well.  The frame has a scratch/gash.  It's 2016 BMC Time Machine 01, not cheap. R&A suggested BrooklynCarbon.com for the repair.  Has anyone ever used them, or can recommend another shop that is skilled in this type of repair?  There is no real structural damage, but the gash is a bit more than a superficial scratch.

can you recommend a good mountain bike mechanic in manhattan?

I'm looking for suggestions for a bike shop with good mountain bike mechanics in Manhattan specifically.  If you have the mechanic's name even better, since it's ultimately not the shop, it's the person.

My daughter just got into cycling. Unfortunately, she is now 22. I only wish that she had caught the bug earlier and that she and I could have ridden together every weekend when she was still living at home. What an experience that would have been!
