Women-Specific Bike Fitting | Recommendations

Submitted by txl211 on Thu, 03/07/2019 - 5:51pm

Good afternoon,

Anyone have any good recommendations for relatively affordable and (preferably) Brooklyn-based bike fitting services designed for women? I had a fitting a few years ago, but as of late have been experiencing some discomfort and believe I need another fitting. I realize this might be somewhat of a controversial topic so I apologize in advance for offending.

Sincerely, Tanya

Best shop to build up a new bike?

Submitted by Jprusack on Wed, 03/06/2019 - 10:41pm

everyone has an opinion but figured id ask what's the latest consensus for the best local shop to build up a new bike.

ive used the service dept at sids in the past and have been pleased but there's a bunch of new mechanics there. im bringing pretty much all of the parts.

thanks.

.

I know many of us find ourselves staring at our favorite (or new) bikes like a mental patient looking at abstract art. So we think we know our bikes really well. Check out this designer's project with ordinary citizens when asked to draw what they think a bike looks like. Better yet, draw your own bike without checking it first.

I was led to see the club's racing team's participation in Saturday's race(s) around Riverside Church and discovered what may be their new website, or simply new since last I saw it. It's fabulous. And just look at that great, great, really great opening photo! It's as great a team or club or, for that matter any organization's photo as I've ever seen. Anywhere. And that easily includes photos of the best financially (and creatively) supported pro teams. Chapeau to whomever designed and took it.

GW Bridge bike path closed today

I suppose I am at fault for not checking the PA website:

The GWB Sidewalk is closed due to adverse weather. Updates will be posted as they become available.

If goodness is its own reward, the failed attempt to drop my bike off for servicing was inconsequential.
