Change in NYCC COVID-19 Guidelines

Submitted by nycc-editor on Wed, 07/08/2020 - 5:44pm

At last night's board meeting, the board approved a change in the COVID-19 guidelines.  The quick summary:

- We are NOW allowing rides of 6 riders and 2 leaders (6+2) and 3 riders and 1 leader (3+1).

- Rides starting from the same starting point, can depart within 15 minutes of each other.  The faster ride needs to head out first.

- Multiple rides are allowed to take the same Staten Island Ferry departure, provided that they disperse to different sections of the ship.

Need Recommendations For Rides In Saugerties Area

Submitted by YoniKochavi on Mon, 07/06/2020 - 10:45am

My son's lease on his Ludlow St apt was up so until he figures out where he'll next be residing, he's "escaped NYC" to live in Saugerties for a month. I plan on joining him for a ride or two. Does anyone have a cue sheet/gps link for something in the 50 mile/2000-2500 feet of climbing range?

I'm a B-SIG 17 grad, filled in as a leader in 2019's B-SIG, have done the climbathon twice with the great R. Rosenthal and have done four multi-day rides in Israel. My son is a fit 26 year old.

Thanks,

Jonathan "Yoni" Stern

Newly ex-NYCC member Jerry Piven just rode his 400th Century since 2011!

40 centuries a year for ten years. How did he have the time? I'm not sure this is an answer but he's a philosophy professor and he thinks and plans some of the time he rides.

If the formulation "newly-ex" is confusing, what it means is, after some years as a member, he decided a couple weeks ago when his membership expired to not renew it For cause..

Co-lead Queens ride?

Submitted by michael on Wed, 07/01/2020 - 6:54pm

I want to list a "scouting" ride for this route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/33192516. I'm thinking Saturday?

This is a variation on the Queens Loop route that I've been doing for a couple of years now.

Would anyone like to co-lead with me? As you may know, ride listings with one ride leader are currently being rejected.

Talk to me.
